Little Sammy Davis - De Arlen Tarlofsky Documentary (2013)

Image Hosted by UploadHouse.com

This is a documentary film about a statesman of the blues, an "original" a representative of the generation of men and women who have dedicated their lives playing Blues. A legacy of culture and musical style that will hardly be able to be repeated. Most have lived his life with a love for this wonderful music and in many cases do not get the notoriety that their white counterparts received. Little Sammy Davis personifies this story. Sammy is seventy-two harmonics of Winona, Mississippi a bluesman in the tradition of the great Jimmy Reed, Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters.
We explore where it comes from, how he lived his life and listen to the music he plays. Perhaps most important, is to understand how the sadness of the blues has become a unique American art form.
