Big Joe Williams a Bagneux - POP2 (1971)
Joseph Lee Williams, known as Poor Joe and Big Joe Williams, was an American singer and American blues guitarist, born in Crawford, Mississippi, on October 16, 1903, and died in Macon, Mississippi, on September 17, 1982. He had a dramatic childhood victim of permanent ill-treatment by his stepfather, so he fled home with just 9 years old and enrolled in Medecine show.
At this time, he met musicians such as Charlie Patton, who would be his greatest influence, and christened Poor Joe. He spent time in Saint Louis and then in Texas, where he met Leadbelly.
