Image Hosted by UploadHouse.com

At this year's Rawa Blues , as usual, will play the head of the party, Irek Dudek . This time we will summarize the big-band incarnation of his work . It promises a great team and a cross-sectional repertoire - beware! musicians have to play without sheet music!

Dudek plays with " dęciakami " for a long time . Already in the second edition of Rawa played with a group of Dudek Blues Band , supported by four saxophonists with the orchestra Jerzy Milian . A year later , in 1983, appointed a formation session Bluesowa Ireneusz Dudek , which starred , among others, Festival in Opole and of course on Rawa . The band played the blues fame as Apostolis Anthimos , Jan Błędowski , Jerzy Piotrowski , Andrzej Urns , George Kawalec or Wodzinskis brothers from Easy Rider , featuring singing Richard Riedel . On stage appearances also renowned jazz musicians like Tomasz Stanko and Janusz Muniak and the then young talents as Krzysztof Popek and Henry Gembalski . Assist their brass section . The band played standards , with sometimes also own English-language compositions Dudek . Critics have commented on the "great blues show", " export spectacle " and the cool of the great world , which Dudek brought on Polish scene.

Rawa Blues'85 Irek Dudek presented the 14 - strong Big Band Boogie ( with 7 -piece horn section , led by Bronislaw Big , which today is responsible for the arrangement of brass instruments in bands Dudek ), and "Jazz Forum" could be read that " at the moment it just pulls Dudek Polish blues , is what he once was Tadeusz Nalepa ." In 1986 he released an LP " Irek Dudek No. 1". The musician recorded it in November 1985 , and he was accompanied by , among others : Piotrowski , Rękosiewicz , Large, Korecki , Popek , Gembalski , Błędowski , Głuch and Rusek . Board presented three " serious " incarnation Dudek : Big Blues Band, Big Band Boogie and violin trio Dudek - Błędowski - Gembalski . Probably because it sometimes accused of being too stylistic diversity. But you can not deny that this is the first Polish blues album recorded in English. I found it fools the evergreens , which to this day in various forms, can be heard at his concerts : flagship "Something Must Have Changed" , " Przebierka " and "From Alojz , Alex ." We will hear them also on this year's Rawa !
