Terry is one of the best kept treasures of Mississippi: an authentic Bluesman, resident Pantotoc. With a unique and definitive style in managing the harmonica, and gradisimo ONE HAND MAN, habitual scene in major festivals. It claims Willie Foster, Booba Barnes, Boogaloo Armes, Big George Borck, Big Jack Johnson, Sper Chikan, RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Asie Payton and James "T-Model Ford, among others. Bean is also a generous spirit blues-teacher and a veteran of acoustic blues workshop Centrum Port Townsend, Washington. "Bean first heard the blues on the porch of his house. His father Eddie Bean, a native of Bruce, sang and played guitar blues and before the birth of Terry traveled with a group of electric blues.
"For many years Eddie Bean, who died in 1985, he organized the informal music and play dates at home Family 'Beans Hill' in western Pontotoc. He also worked as a sharecropper, enlisting Terry and others of his fourteen children picking cotton in the fields around. "Terry began playing guitar and harmonica as a child, and finally, his father began offering the home meetings and take it along with other home games. Although Terry was a 'natural', who stopped playing time he was 12 because several of his brothers were jealous of the attention he received.
Today his brother Jimmy plays bass in church and sometimes in Terry blues band, while brother Jerry Lee sings gospel and leading voice in Pontotoc Blues legends. "Terry turned his attention instead of baseball and was a star pitcher for the American League teams and his high school team, whom he led to the state championship in 1980.
