Backsliding in blues, Shemekia Copeland sings today. Born Charon Shemekia Copeland in 1979 in Harlem, New, York, daughter of gitarrista legendary Texan Johnny Copeland, began developing his career in his early teens, ostentanto a powerful very suitable voice for the soul and in line with Koko Taylor and Etta James.
Her father encouraged since age 8 singing, taking the Cotton Club during their performances and raising it to the stage. When he was 16 years and opened the concerts on tour bluesman, and had made a name for himself in the blues circuit.
