Robben Ford & the Blue Line - Toronto Beaches Jazz Festival (1993)

Robben Ford (born December 16, 1951) is a guitarist for blues, jazz and rock. He was born in Woodlake, California, and raised in Ukiah. He began taking guitar lessons at age 13 in 1965, and bought his first guitar at age 19 in 1969. Charles Ford, his father, had his own blues band, Charles Ford Blues Band, which included such musicians Robben and his brothers. The world famous as a guitarist came in 1986, in which he appeared as a guitarist on the staff of the tour of Miles Davis, genial way to merge jazz and blues in an innovative way. Robben Ford has also played live and collaborated on albums with Jimmy Witherspoon, George Harrison, Joni Mitchell with Tom Scott's LA Express, and Yellowjackets. Ford wrote his first solo album in 1972, entitled Discovering the Blues. The latter was succeeded Schizophonic (1976) and his latest album, The Inside Story (1979), which went gold in 1980. After a period of four years without any new release, published in 1983 Words and Music, which was followed their self-titled album, Robben Ford, in 1986.
In the year 1988 recorded Talk to Your Daughter, which was also gold in 1989. His best work nineties includes discs Handful of Blues, Blues Connotation and Tiger Walk, constituting a return to his bluesy roots. Robben Ford uses Dumble amplifiers, and has his own signature model Fender. He is married cabaret singer Anne Kerry Ford, who has also collaborated with him on several projects.
